Trainz Utilities.

TAD Monitor - This tool keeps track of the Assets.tdx file.

This tool keeps track of the Assets.tdx file and maintains backup copies of the Database in case of a CMP/Trainz failure that requires a rebuild.

One of the Biggest sources of problems with CMP is the volatility of the Trainz Asset Database (TAD) file, called "Assets.tdx". Any slight bump, and the file needs to be rebuilt. The results of this problem can be seen not only in the loss of Keywords and Faulty Status, but also in lost time while the Database is rebuilt.

With this tool, the Database is maintained through incremental Backups. Every time the Database is updated, a new backup is created. If something does go wrong, you can just restore one of the backups and your up and running in seconds rather than minutes or hours.

Old Backups are automatically erased to conserve disk space and you can specify how many previous backups to keep.

* Extremely Low CPU Usage. Running this tool and Trainz/CMP at the same time is no problem. A twelve hour stability test showed less than 0.06% CPU usage.

"TAD Montior" is a lifesaver.. You will almost never have to wait while CMP/Trainz Rebuilds the Trainz Asset Database again.

Installation instructions 1. Download the File from Here - TAD Monitor - http://trainz.ws/tarl/Downloads/TADMonitor.zip

2. Extract the TADMonitor.zip file anywhere you like.

3. Using Notepad or other Plain text editor, open the file named "Config.php"

4. Change the configuration lines to match your PC.
Change "$BaseDir" to match your TRS installation.

Note the Use of Double Backslash instead of single "\\"
Also note that Names longer than 8 Characters must be reduced To there Dos equiviliant.
Typically this is the First 6 Characters and "~1".
For Example: "Program Files" becomes "Progra~1"

Change "$InstallDir" to match your TADMonitor installation.
The same Rules apply to the Install Dir as for the BaseDir

Change "$BackupsToKeep" to set how many backups you wish to keep.
If you want to keep all backups, set it some extreme number

5. Create a Shortcut to "Monitor.bat" on your desktop for quick and easy Starting of TAD Monitor
